Spocycling

I like cycling.  Check that, I LOVE cycling.  Every chance I get I pull on my padded bike shorts (What a life saver, the inventor is a Saint!) and hop on my roadie for a ride.  I've ridden all over Spokane, but there is one trail that I'll always ride.  The Spokane River Centennial Trail.  It's like that favorite song or movie - it will never get old.  Even though I've ridden the whole thing through, I still can't get enough of the first 10 miles and the last 13 miles.  They're the perfect combination of beautiful scenery and great riding.  What's your favorite part of the Centennial Trail?  Is there a ride that can match the cycling supremacy of the Centennial?

Can't beef at your pick of the Spokane Centennial Trail - pure heaven on a roadie... and having just ridden Boise's Greenbelt a week ago - thanks to the folks who keep our ride sweet and smooth! Their trail is pretty, but rutted and rough. One thing they've got down pat though is trail manners - we could use a few lessons here (think keep to the right, keep your dog on a short leash and geez... could you just pick up after your pooch?!)

Riding this past weekend I had my third sighting of a well-fed coyote just east of Plantes Ferry. He's not too sketchy around people and he almost seems to challenge you just a bit with his eyes, that is... just before he runs off into the bushes. I've seen tons of cool wildlife on the ride from Coeur d'Alene to Spokane, but I have to admit, that wiley coyote is my favorite!

Have a response? Let us know what you think?
