11. Looff Carrousel: True, the music can be repetitive and it may lack a romantic atmosphere. But what the Looff Carrousel lacks in ambiance it makes up for in fun! The 1909 Looff Carrousel holds a well deserved spot on the National Register of Historic Places as one of America's most beautiful and well preserved hand-carved wooden carrousels. It features 54 horses, one giraffe, one tiger, two Chinese dragon chairs . . . and a partridge in a pear tree! I'd encourage you to think of this kiss as a challenge. After all, you are spinning in circles and going up and down! It's like playing pin the lips on your partner, except you're in constant motion. My recommendation - head to the carrousel just before closing time (10 pm) when the crowd will be dwindling, hop on some horses and hang on. And when I say hang on I mean it!
