My 2011 Resolution

I’ve lived in Spokane my entire life and I’ve done some really fun things. But every once in awhile, I hear about adventures and experiences that people have in Spokane that I’ve never had the chance to do! So in the spirit of the new year, here’s my list of things I’m going to do in 2011.

Fly around on an Ultralight with Backcountry Aerosports. What’s that, you say? This past summer, I got to watch some travel writers soar above the Palouse on an ultralight and it looked like so much fun! I think it’s my turn now.

Visit the kitties at Cat Tales Zoological Park. Alright, so I may have been here on a field trip when I was like six, but I’ve never gone when I could truly appreciate the place. Cat Tales is a park that saves wild animals (like lions, tigers and bears - oh my!) and you can watch them play and be trained. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Pick some strawberries at Green Bluff. Every autumn since before I can remember, my family bundles up to pick fresh apples off the trees at Green Bluff. I love this tradition, but I’ve always wanted to go in the summertime to pick some yummy berries! They’d sure make some good jam (and I make some killer pies, too!

Bike the Route of the Hiawatha. I’m not known for my incredible balance so I’ve never been a big fan of biking, but this trail looks like a total blast! For a 15 mile ride, you go through 10 tunnels and 7 high trestles. Plus, I hear that its an absolutely gorgeous ride. Count me in!

Take a cooking class at Kitchen Engine. I’m a big foodie so when I heard that a friend of mine learned how to make pasta here, I immediately put this on my to-do list. I just checked their website and maybe I’ll try my hand at cooking Thai food on January 26th. Who’s coming with me?

Well, I've listed a few of the things that I've always wanted to do in the region, so now it's your turn! What have you always wanted to try?
