Chase Gallery

The Chase Gallery is a community art exhibition space adjacent to the City Council Chambers in the Spokane City Hall. It features a wide range of exhibitions by local and regional artists from contemporary to traditional.  The visitors to the Chase Gallery include art aficionados, citizens, tourists, and inadvertent art viewers coming to meetings and to conduct city business.  Gallery hours are weekdays 8 am. to 5 pm and throughout the City Council Meetings on Monday evenings. Please consider the public nature of the audience and the exhibition space.

Birds in Art

October 1, 2013 - January 6, 2014

A group exhibition with birds as subject matter will be exhibited at the Chase Gallery, October 1, 2013 - January 6, 2014. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings and photographs.

An artist reception will be held on Friday, October 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with Visual Arts Tour.

Drawing

DRAWING, a group exhibition of art works about line, drawing, strokes, pathways, January 8 – March 28. The exhibiting includes drawings, installations and other gestures.

An artist reception will be held, Friday, February 7, 2014, 5 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with Visual Arts Tour.

Very Carefully

April 2 – July 3, 2014

Very Carfully, a group exhibition of art works by four artists who pay attention to craftsmanship and detail. Works include woodcarving, metal assemblage, painting and mosaic.

An artist reception will be held on First Friday, April 4, 5 to 8p.m.

Legacy of Expo 74

July 9 – September 26, 2014

This exhibition includes art works by artists whose work was exhibited in Expo 74, historical photographs from the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture and Northwest Room, and artifacts from the time.

Reception will be held First Friday, August 1, 5 to 8 p.m.

   

Gay Waldman and Ken Yuhasz

October 1 – December 31, 2014

This exhibition includes photography and sculpture by two of Spokane’s most prominent artists. Waldman is well-known for her photography and recently completed a large photo work for the Spokane Convention Center. Yuhasz is best known for his works of neon sculpture including the Aer-O-Toaster at the Spokane International Airport.

An artist reception will be held Friday, October 3, 5 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with Visual Arts Tour.
