  Cheryl KildayPresident's Perspective

It's easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, but there comes a time where I like to slow down to think about our community and the things that make me thankful to live and work here.

First - the scenic beauty, friendly people, vibrant downtown and dynamic business community.  I am thankful that our community has a vision of being bigger than our population alone can support and that we welcome visitors of all types. I am thankful that the convention center expansion was supported by our citizens and that our customers and community love the new space.  Thankful is how I feel about the passage of the Riverfront Park bonds and that we will soon enjoy an exciting renovation of a key tourism attraction. I appreciate the support for tourism that our communities provide and that our growing culinary scene is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.  The spirit of cooperation is evident in meetings such as the one recently held by the Liberty Lake Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.

I am thankful for our partners that join us in our marketing programs, expanding our reach.  I am especially thankful for the passionate and professional team at Visit Spokane who contribute their all each day to feature what a great destination we have so that visitors will travel to Spokane.

I could keep going for pages, but you get the picture.  Enjoy this holiday season and let's all appreciate this region we call home. A great place to live is a great place to visit!

Thank you for being part of the reason visitors love it here!

  Partner Tip

Did you know that each year we print thousands of maps and visitor guides? These publications are loved by visitors, as they have a lot of information about things to see and do around the Spokane region.

As a partner of Visit Spokane, you are able to use these maps and visitor guides to hand out to customers who are visiting your business.

Make the best use of these publications by stocking them at your front desk, retail counter or hostess stand. Even better, make sure the team members who staff those frontline positions are aware of the publications and are ready to use and provide them to visitors who have questions about the area. This is a great way to make sure the visitor has a great experience at your business, as well as within the destination as a whole!

If you are in need of maps or visitor guides, or are currently using outdated versions (yikes!), please email Karen Montague at
