Visit Spokane Announces New Director of Sales

Shannon-HeadshotVisit Spokane is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Shannon to the position of Director of Sales. This is a promotion for Shannon, a 20-year industry veteran who has been with Visit Spokane since 2003, most recently as Senior Director of National Accounts.

In her new position, Shannon will oversee the Visit Spokane sales team in Spokane and the satellite office in Seattle. The primary focus of the sales team is to bring meeting and convention groups to the Spokane region.

"We couldn't be happier that Shannon accepted our offer to take on this new role," said Keith Backsen, Visit Spokane Vice President of Sales and Services. "We had an extremely talented pool of candidates for the job but, in the end, Shannon rose to the top because of her smarts, her unmatched talent and her experience."

Visit Spokane expanded its sales team in 2013, with the addition of the Seattle office and an office in Chicago. This new growth phase complements Visit Spokane's existing Washington DC office.

"It's a great opportunity to step into this role at a time when so much expansion and development is happening in Spokane," said Shannon. "With our own expansion of the Visit Spokane team, we're excited to represent the Spokane region and bring more business here."

Shannon is an active member of several industry associations, including the Professional Convention Management Association and the Washington Society of Association Executives.
