Not too long ago, I found myself with tickets to a show at the Bing Crosby Theater (it used to be called The Met) in downtown Spokane. I've strolled by this venue plenty of times, but never really made a point of going inside. And I'll be honest - on this night, my excitement mainly stemmed from the concert I was going to see. It was Imagine: Remembering the Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band! And if you know anything about me, I'm nuts for anything about John, Paul, George and Ringo. You should see my desktop background... I'm a little obsessed.
Anyway, we found our seats and waited for the show to begin. The place was super cozy and intimate with the ceilings and walls just oozing with beautiful antiquity. And the best part was that even though we were sitting on the balcony, we still felt super close to the stage. Oh and if you're a history buff, how about an interesting fact about the Bing? It was built in 1916 and was used as a silent film movie house. Pretty cool if you ask me - and kind of funny it's named after someone famous for his sound!
So, next time you're in Spokane, I'd definitely recommend catching a show at this place. Tons of events are coming up like NBC's Last Comic Standing Live Tour, the Banff Film Festival and a Bing Crosby White Christmas Celebration! Get tickets online or at the Bing, Spokane Arena and the Opera House box offices. No matter what, you've got to put this place on your must see list!
