A Change In Scene

Have you heard the winds of change? If you haven't, you need to get out more! They're blowing right through downtown where the nightlife scene is rockin'. Let's face it; five years ago the nightlife scene was on life support. Fast forward to today. The nightlife scene is hot with great bars and clubs that are breathing new life into the downtown core. Zola, Marquee, Bistango, Scratch Restaurant & Rain Lounge, Uno, The Knitting Factory, the list could go on. All are receiving rave reviews and all offer something unique and different. But what am I most excited about? Three words: dueling piano bar! Though still in the renovation process, Gibliano Brothers Dueling Piano Bar & Music House is set to open in the old 24 Hour Fitness Building at 418 W Riverside. For those of you who don't know, dueling piano entertainment involves two musicians who play pianos onstage, take song requests from the audience, and bring audience members onstage to perform karaoke-style. How cool will that be! It's just another awesome arrow in Spokane's nightlife quiver. What do you think about the addition of a dueling piano bar? What, if anything, do you think Spokane still needs in its nightlife repertoire?
