I live in downtown Spokane; at least it feels that way. Since 2009, I've spent most of my work day and many evenings at my criminal defense law firm, Action Legal Group, in the heart of Spokane. When it comes to anything Spokane, the attorneys in our office definitely have a "best of" list. Sometimes we argue about better and best but we all agree, if it is on this list, you won't be disappointed.
Business Lunch - Clinkerdagger
Clinkerdagger actually rates as the best fine dining on many surveys, but when you want to wind down in the middle of the day and still get some work done, not only does Clinkerdagger have the perfect atmosphere but also the food is delicious and unpretentious. The warm bread, brought to you when you sit down is a great conversation starter. After that, I recommend ordering the colossal shrimp cocktail appetizer.
Lunch-time Sandwiches - Domini Sandwiches
If it has been a while since you were in New York City and you are craving a deli-style piled-high-with-meat sandwich that requires serious oral gymnastics to wrap your mouth around, then Domini Sandwiches is your sandwich heaven. Beyond their size, the taste is true Italian deli right off 55th Street.
Order-in Business Lunch - The High Nooner
Just because you have to work through lunch doesn't mean you can't look forward to it. The High Nooner has a large menu of sandwich fare and all the trimmings. Definitely, in the running as a "best" for sandwiches, the multiple locations add to its popularity.
Business Dinner - Spencer's for Steaks and Chops
Spencer's was voted the second best steakhouse in some surveys. But I have three words...parmesan crusted halibut. I have never had better! The hearty portions of fish rest on a bed of spinach drizzled with sauce. Although it is a steakhouse, I go for the halibut.
Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant - Mizuna Restaurant and Wine Bar
Obviously from my selections above, I am not a vegetarian but when I need to entertain a client or associate that is, Mizuna has an extensive vegetarian menu to satisfy the most discriminating palate.
Business Drinks - Safari Room
The décor alone makes The Safari Room an ideal location for business drinks.
Hotel for Clients - The Davenport Hotel
The Davenport Hotel is a historic hotel located in downtown Spokane. Your guests will appreciate the service and amenities. For me it is ideal since it is downtown close to my office. An additional "best" I recommend is the Northern Quest Casino and Resort.
Evening Entertainment - Northern Quest Resort & Casino
If your client is interested in an active nightlife, the Northern Quest Resort & Casino is a big slice of the Strip that didn't stay in Vegas. Slot machines, game tables, a card room, several nightclubs, and many dining options including a buffet, belie that you are in Spokane. Included in this location is my selection for the best spa, La Rive Spa.
Local Winery - Arbor Crest Wine Cellars
When you and your client need a real break, Arbor Crest Wine Cellars' tasting room in the River Park Square is a great place to take the edge off and enjoy the flavor of handcrafted award-winning wine by the taste, glass, bottle, or case.
Local Brew Pub - No-Li Brewhouse
No-Li Brewhouse is an authentic Spokane brew pub. Sourcing their ingredients from within 300 miles of Spokane, their pub style menu is as original as their take on classic brews. Your favorite ale with a Spokane twist is not to be missed.
Beer Bar - Manito Tap House
Manito Tap House is a beer lover's paradise. With over 50 taps featuring over 40 craft beers and a unique menu to match their beer variety, your discerning client won't forget your great taste in venues.
Martini Bar - Twigs Bistro & Martini Bar
OK. It's a chain; but a small one and it definitely doesn't feel like it. With an eclectic menu that's as chic as it's 36 signature martinis, Twigs is one of the hippest places to see or be seen in.
Steakhouse - Churchill's Steakhouse
Every city needs to boast a great steakhouse. Not only is Churchill's Spokane's finest steakhouse it is one of the country's best. No matter who you bring here, they will feel special. The menu explains why their steaks are so good. I just know they melt in my mouth.
Seafood - Anthony's at Spokane Falls
In addition to having great seafood, guaranteed to be fresh, Anthony's is one of my preferred places to show off Spokane to an out of town client. The view of the falls is spectacular.
Brunch - The Davenport Hotel
A truly awe-inspiring event, The Davenport Hotel's brunch includes more options than any one person could try, evidenced by the desert bar being so expansive that it needs its own room. Served in one of the hotel's fully restored ballrooms, the experience shows off the elegance and dignity of 19th Century Spokane.
