Last Saturday my husband and I decided to experience Spokane Restaurant Week at Manito Tap House. I invited a couple who are "beer snobs" to join me and my husband to go to this place I had not been to before. Manito Tap House was one of the best surprises I have had in dining out for a long time. Not only was the food superb, but the atmosphere was just "fun."
We started out ordering a beer sampler. That was tough ordering only six samples as you have 50 brews to select from - many from the state of Washington. And, the sampler was priced just right--$5.00. Our favorites, after sampling, were the Tieton Cider Works Cherry Cider and the BrewDog Trashy Blonde.
Our waiter, Todd, was the best! Not only did he give excellent service, but he was polite and knowledgeable. He explained how all the breads, salad dressings and desserts are made from scratch daily. We each proceeded to order something different -- two Restaurant Week Specials and two off the menu meals. We started out with the Tap House Mozzarella and Fall Flatbread appetizers. Both were amazing. Then came the salads and my Blood Orange Vinaigrette dressing was out-of- this-world delicious. At this point we were all sharing bites. Now came the main courses-all beautifully plated. There was the Tap House Steak with a mashed potato croquette to kill for, the Big Chop with the best apple-fennel compote ever, a Tap House Burger that our friend could not put down and the Cannon Park French Dip - got to love that Spokane name. Then the finale -- dessert. It was 4 spoons digging into Peanut Butter Crème Brulee and frozen Chocolate Covered Cheesecake with Blood Orange Sorbet.
We jointly completed the service survey and the only criticism we could offer was that they needed to expand their space to accommodate more customers. We will definitely be going back to Manito Tap House.
