I have an announcement!  Spokane is the favorite child of the snow gods.  How else can you explain the 60+ inches of fluffy, dry mountain snow we've received?  And that's not counting what is coming our way.  All I know is that those snow dances the ski resorts were doing must have paid off.  But with all this snow, what can you do?  Have no fear.  I've devised a nice, but not complete, list of fun things to do in the snow around the Spokane Region.
  1. Go sledding at Manito Park.
  2. Cross country ski along the Centennial Trail.
  3. Hit the slopes at Mt. Spokane for some great night skiing.
  4. Snowshoe through Riverside State Park.
  5. Go ice-skating in Riverfront Park.
  6. Surf (Yes, I said surf) in the Silver Rapids Waterpark at Silver Mountain Resort.
  7. Ski in two states while at the same resort at Lookout Pass.
  8. Shred the slopes at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, one of the top ski resorts in the nation.
  9. Enjoy the second most skiable acres in Washington State at 49 Degrees North.
  10. Explore Mount Spokane State Park's Nordic center on your cross country skis.

Don't let all this snow keep you house bound.  Get out and enjoy it.  Consider this a challenge, or ten challenges if we're getting specific.  Make a list and check them off as you do them.  Believe me, you won't regret it.
