The Senior Director of Sales, under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will have the primary responsibility of selling to the Northeast group market, focusing on the DC, MD and VA regions. The Senior Director of Sales, together with the Director of Sales, will manage the overall production and day to day activities of the Convention Sales team. Key focus is to ensure implementation of the entire scope of work within the approved budget, and achievement of convention sales goals. Other duties include: assist in the development of budget and strategies leading to increased destination awareness and definite meeting and convention bookings; develop and maintain relationships within the Spokane hospitality community and with community leaders; represent Spokane and Visit Spokane in the Northeast convention market. In addition to duties relating to departmental management, this position will maintain and grow a client base and achieve assigned convention lead and booking goals.
Experience: Must have a BA/BS with an emphasis in marketing or sales, and/or at least seven years of related professional experience, which may substitute for academic experience. Must have sales success in the Northeast market or at least five years' experience as a meeting planner for national associations in the Northeast market. Industry certifications preferred (CDME, CMP, CGMP, CDMP, etc).
