  • KC and The Sunshine Band put Miami, FL on the map as the hottest music city on the planet with their feel good, happy music that gets audiences on their feet! Their first album Blow Your Whistle made the top 15 on the R&B charts and they followed up with their second album KC and The Sunshine Band that went triple platinum in 1975. Huge No. 1 hits came out of their second album that include "Get Down Tonight", "That's The Way (I Like It)", "Boogie Shoes" and "Rock Your Baby". KC also won the American Music Award in 1975 for Best R&B Artist. KC and The Sunshine Band became the first band since the Beatles in 1964 to reach four No. 1 spots in a 12-month period. In 1976 more No. 1 hits popped from their third album Part 3, including "I'm Your Boogie Man", "Shake Your Booty" and "Keep It Comin' Love". "Boogie Shoes" became a hit and was featured in the movie Saturday Night Fever, where KC received Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Producer of the Year for his work on the movie's soundtrack.
