Spokane Arts
In 1981, the City of Spokane enacted its "% for Art" Ordinance mandating that 1% of certain capital construction costs be utilized to purchase artwork for enhancing public buildings and spaces. A primary function of the Spokane Arts Commission is coordinating the selection, placement and other planning and design factors of municipal art projects in accordance with the overall municipal arts plan.

Provides comprehensive information about the community in key areas like education, arts and leisure, health, economics, transportation, etc. Last April we held a conference on community indicators at the convention center that attracted over 250 people from the region and the northwest, so there's definitely growing interest in having easy access to community information.

Facilities
Spokane Public Facilities District
The SPFD is responsible for the new Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Opened in September of 1995, the Arena is a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility for our community and the Inland Northwest.
