The Spokane String Quartet was founded in 1979 to bring live, professional chamber music performances to Inland Northwest audiences. Now it is the only chamber ensemble to present a regular concert series including premieres by local composers and music from the MoldenhauerArchives. The Quartet’s regular concert series takes place at the Bing Crosby Theater and Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox in downtown Spokane. The Quartet also presentsfree concerts at Spokane neighborhood centers, provides coaching for area student ensembles and performs at area secondary schools. They have represented Spokane performing throughout the northwest, in Carnegie Hall in NewYork, and on several tours of Europe. The Spokane Chamber MusicAssociation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and promote the musical and educational activities of the Spokane String Quartet.
