Called "one of the most talented singer-songwriters Boston has to offer," Eric Hutchinson's been compared to Jason Mraz, Stevie Wonder, Ben Folds, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, and even The Beatles. Journalist James Campion calls Hutchinson "a major talent with nary a trace of pretension". Hutchinson began playing guitar around 1995 and later added piano. He's an exuberant guitarist, often playing percussive hand slaps on the strings. His music walks a line between rock, folk pop, and powerpop.

Then classical harpist Yolanda Kondonassis takes centerstage in Alberto Ginastera's concerto, a delicious virtuoso mix of Argentine folk music with echoes of Stravinsky, Bartok, and Copland. The evening closes with Robert Schumann's Second Symphony. This great work unfolds like a dramatic novel with its fiery Scherzo, an intimate slow movement, and a triumphant finale.
