For the past two years, Dweezil Zappa has spent the majority of his waking hours learning, studying, analyzing, rehearsing, and performing the music of his father, Frank Zappa. An arduous task, Dweezil and all six members of Zappa Plays Zappa are good at it. The band Dweezil put together works with the goal of reproducing Frank's harmonically and rhythmically complex music as accurately, faithfully, and lovingly as possible for the delight and edification of live audiences. The Evolution of Hip Hop, a benefit concert for The Alternative Youth Services, includes a special performance by the Paper CutOut Crew and DJ americo along with local breakdancers, hip-hop dancers, and 3 DJs! Our goal: keep youth positively involved in life by providing encouraging mentors, alternative activities, motivational speakers, and tutors, assuring success in education. We are "The Alternative", providing positive alternatives to gangs, drugs, and other high-risk behaviors.

It's a White Christmas at the Bing Crosby Theater! This annual event is a gift to the Spokane community, featuring Bing Crosby films and presentations by his niece Carolyn Schneider and nephew Howard Crosby. Films include Holiday Inn, 1942, Road to Zanzibar, 1941, and White Christmas, 1954. Schneider reads from her new work, On the Road to Elko, a book detailing Crosby's 1943-1958 purchases of seven working ranches in Nevada. Howard Crosby shares stories of happy times on the links with Bing.
