Spokane Gives, a county-wide event encouraging giving and volunteering, is right around the corner. Because it's so close, right now seems like a good time to talk about the kindness and compassion of our community and the role the tourism industry plays in supporting charities. There are numerous events that are used to raise funds for critical causes that could not happen without the generosity of the tourism industry: wine events and silent and live auctions that feature hotel packages, restaurant gift certificates, local wines, craft beer, tickets to events, museums, etc. There are also many tourism related businesses that support the Spokane River clean-up, the Centennial Trail Adopt-a-Mile program and other regular opportunities for giving.  The local hotels have a Housekeepers Olympics each year that raises money for charity. The list goes on and on.

As we enter April and the buzz builds about Spokane Gives, know that we appreciate all that you do throughout the year for our community. If you are looking for a new opportunity, the website for
Spokane Gives is a great place to explore what needs there are and how your organization may get involved.

Thank you,
