United Airlines Adds Chicago-O’Hare and San Francisco

Spokane, WA, February 27, 2017– United Airlines is making it easier for travelers to get to Spokane with two new nonstops starting June 8, 2017. The daily nonstop flights -- from San Francisco (SFO) to Spokane, and Chicago (ORD) to Spokane -- will run year-round. Travelers can start planning now: booking for the flights is already available.

“We are really excited about this announcement and the continued growth in airlift at Spokane International Airport,” said Cheryl Kilday, President & CEO of Visit Spokane. “This will have a direct correlation with the positive image people have of Spokane by making it even easier to reach us and enjoy the destination. These important cities that will be connected to Spokane will provide new opportunities for tourism growth."

While the new flights are a big positive for all travelers, the locations of the Chicago and San Francisco hubs make this particularly good news for business travelers, including attendees to meetings and conventions in the Spokane region.

"Add these flights to the growing list of reasons why Spokane is the ideal place for meetings and conventions," said Rob Enriquez, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "When attendees experience the destination, they fall in love. This new nonstop service gives us an additional element to keep our positive trend growing."

The new routes mark the latest additions to the airport’s list of nonstop routes. On June 4, Southwest Airlines will begin seasonal nonstop flights from Spokane to San Diego. Alaska Airlines recently added a nonstop flight from Spokane to Anchorage and Delta Air Lines added nonstop service to Los Angeles and Boise.
