Visit Spokane Welcomes International Figure Skating Event
Spokane to host inaugural Team Challenge Cup in 2016

(September 24, 2015) Visit Spokane applauds the team at Star USA for winning the bid to have Spokane, WA host the 2016 Team Challenge Cup, April 22-24, 2016. This is an inaugural event featuring 42 of the world's top figure skaters, competing as teams representing North America, Europe and Asia.

Spokane was chosen to host the event largely because of the region's past success in hosting national figure skating events. Spokane hosted the US Figure Skating Championships in 2007 and 2010, shattering attendance records.

"We are so excited to have an international event of this caliber in Spokane," said Cheryl Kilday, Visit Spokane President & CEO. "The team at Star USA worked hard to bring this first-time event to our destination, and we can't wait to show visitors from all over the world what makes the Spokane region such a wonderful place to live, work and visit."
