Spokane is enjoying its first Restaurant Week, providing the perfect invitation to try something new. Thai being an unfamiliar cuisine to my husband and I, Thai Bamboo became our destination. We had always wondered what was behind the palm trees when driving down Division, and inside we found an eclectic mix of spice, color, design and twinkling lights.

Up first was our order of Spring Rolls and Butterfly Wontons. Deep fried and golden they were very ample starters. Next came the choice of heat for the main course. Not knowing, we elected not to go too hot. Soon appeared two generous plates - Phad Thai and Chicken Cashew Nut served with perfectly prepared veggies.

Now, with great curiosity, it was time to choose from the sweeter side of the menu. We opted for the Fried Banana and Black Sticky Rice Pudding, both served with a scoop of ice cream

Definitely stuffed and indulged by excellent service, we left with a big smile as our server offered to send us home with to-go desserts as ours came sans ice cream. Thank you, Thai Bamboo! We enjoyed the experience and getting a taste, in Spokane, of authentic Thai cuisine.
