“Gardens of the Loire Valley”

  • overview

JJ DeSousa, interior and garden designer from Portland, OR presents “Gardens of the Loire Valley” on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 6:30 pm at CenterPlace, 2426 N Discovery Pl, Spokane Valley, WA. Luckily for JJ, their climate in the NW is almost identical to the climate in the Loire Valley of France. Since buying a neglected farmhouse in 2015, she has been reclaiming, restoring and reinventing her space in the French countryside.

Surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens in the world, there is a ton to learn about the terrain, plant material and another ton of inspiration to draw from. You just can’t imagine how many beautiful gardens exist in that part of the world!

So please join JJ in a very French adventure through the Valleé des Rois, exploring Les Jardins and chateaux and explore the ideas we gleaned from their over the top gardens and interiors and how she translated them into her own unique space.

French or English, geometric or wild, always beautifully blooming, with vegetables or fragrant rose bushes: the gardens and parks of the Loire Valley amaze visitors as much as the chateaux they surround. Experience the art of outdoor living as it was during the Renaissance. You can see why the Loire Valley is known as “the Garden of France.” Be prepared to be seduced. Please note the date is a day earlier than normal due to the holiday.
