Classics 6: Passion's Pursuit

  • overview

The Spokane Symphony is conducted this weekend by music director finalist James Lowe. You'll experience the genius of Liszt--his gorgeous Hungarian Rhapsody is followed by his Second Piano Concerto, performed by guest artist, pianist Haochen Zhang. This concert includes Brahms' Fourth Symphony, and Zhou Tian's "Rise," which is a co-commision of the Spokane Symphony. All ticket holders are invited to the pre-concert talk, one hour before the concert. Choose Saturday at 8 pm or Sunday at 3 pm for Passion's Pursuit with the Spokane Symphony. (Note: On Friday, Feb 15 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, Zhang will teach a piano master class for several local piano students who have auditioned for the chance to get instruction in technique and performance tips. Master classes are free and open to the public to observe. No tickets required for the master class--just stop by The Fox Theater box office on Sprague to attend.)
