All the wonderment and charm of an Old-Fashioned Christmas will be on full display during the annual Christmas Kickoff in Downtown Dayton. Main Street comes alive with seasonal festivities. The merriment begins on Friday as the shops open with holiday specials and a myriad of events. The mule drawn hay rides are a trip back to yesteryear, departing from the Historic Train Depot each day. Main Street comes aglow on Friday night during the Lighted Parade. Businesses and community groups decorate floats, cars, tractors, and even adorn animals with a bevy of colorful and twinkling holiday lights. The parade is followed by the fireworks show. The Christmas Market at the Depot will feature hand-crafted gifts include local foods and gifts. A Boldman House Christmas takes visitors magically back in time with period costumes and decorations in a fully-restored historic home. Wenaha Gallery hosts four talented artists with diverse abilities, artisan finger food desserts and a new display of gift-sized oil painting landscapes.
