Happy Fall, The Salvation Army of Spokane is again looking for enthusiastic people to ring a bell at the familiar Red Kettles, which has helped raise much-needed funds to support the services and programs that The Salvation Army of Spokane has provided through its many community outreach programs for nearly 130 years. The kettles will be out from November 22 to December 24. The Red Kettle campaign provides employment for those seeking a hand-up, not a hand-out, as well as volunteer opportunities for individuals, service groups and churches wishing to and help our most-vulnerable neighbors during the holidays. The Red Kettles help those in need during the holiday season by supporting the community outreach programs provided by The Salvation Army of Spokane. For example, did you know that in 2018, The Salvation Army assisted more than 151,000 people with over 43,000 nights of shelter and 3.2 million pounds of food and other basic needs? Financial gifts in the kettles helped create this positive change for children, women, and men in our community! With fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year – means fewer days for the Red Kettles – volunteers are greatly needed. Volunteers choose the location, date, and shift that fits their schedules. Bell ringers can split a shift with a friend or sign up as a group. All are welcomed!
I would love to get your group scheduled as soon as possible. I can be reached at 509-329-2759 or at Gerriann.Armstrong@usw.salvationarmy.org I look forward to hearing from you soon! Merry Christmas!
