In this interactive and hands-on workshop, Spokane artist Nicholas Sironka leads students in an introduction to the origin of Batik art (the alternating application of hot wax and cold-water dyes on fabric) and how to apply this technique to creating art.
The workshop is appropriate for people of all ages and is designed to not only broaden understanding of Batik art but also, explain the differences between "tie and dye" and the Batik painting process. All materials provided by the instructor. *Class includes a short break and participants are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks. Students may also purchase food and drinks in the Museum’s Café.
