Spokane's own Julia Sweeney is coming home to perform her new one-woman comedy stand-up show, "Julia Sweeney: Older & Wider," on September 28 at 8:00 pm at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. She was a "Saturday Night Live" cast member from 1990-94, creating the androgynous and outrageous character, "Pat." Sweeney, a writer, actor, comedian, director and monologist, is also well-known for her shows that combine comedy and drama, including "God Said 'Ha'!" about her family and health crises, including her own battle with cancer, and "In the Family Way," about becoming a single mother for the first time in her 40s when she adopted a Chinese baby girl, which was turned into the memoir, "If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother." She's a graduate of Marycliff and Gonzaga Prep, and the University of Washington.
