Do you take care of a friend or family member? Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself while caring for someone else. This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced Class Leaders conduct the series (many are experienced caregivers themselves, who have successfully applied the techniques they teach.) Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the "tools" you choose and put them into action for your life. You will receive a book, The Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class. Classes will be FREE, thanks to support from the Caregiver Support Program and Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington. Classes will be located at Frontier Behavioral Health, Raschko branch, 5125 North Market Street, Spokane, WA, 99217. Sessions are held from 10:30 am - 12 noon on Mondays: April 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and May 6th, 2019. Please let our staff know in advance if you need respite in order to attend. We ask that you commit to attend every week. For more information or to register, contact the Caregiver Support Program at 509-458-7450. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
