  • Overview
  • Heather S. Ransom is the author of Going Green, a dystopian novel about a future where humans are genetically modified to have cholorplasts in their skin cells. In this future, the color of your skin tells everyone who you are...and what you're worth. Calyssa Brentwood, a high school senior just finishing her cellular enhancement, is on her way to becoming an aristocrat when she finds out that the procedure doesn' t work for eveyone... Contemporary issues thread through the pages of this novel, including racism and police brutality. Going Green has recently been nominated for a Pacific Northwest Book Award.

Benjamin Gorman, once a Spokanite graduate from Whitworth University, is the author of The Digital Storm, a science fiction retelling of Shakespeare's The Tempest, which has been nominated for both a Pacific Northwest Book Award and a Pulitzer. Prosper, the protagonist, is an artificial intelligence program who's created a virtual island home for himself, his daughter Memoranda, and a virus called Caliban. Revenge is on his mind after his recent capture, but how far will he go to seek it?
