The Lehman Trilogy

  • overview

The story of a family and a company that changed the world, The Lehman Trilogy is directed by Academy Award-winner Sam
Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall, The Ferryman)
Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley, and Ben Miles play the Lehman brothers, as well as a cast of characters including their sons
and grandsons, in an extraordinary feat of storytelling which the New York Times called ‘three of the most virtuosic performances
you’re ever likely to see.’ They were jointly nominated in 2019 for the best actor Olivier Award.
The Lehman Trilogy weaves through nearly two centuries of Lehman lineage. On a cold September morning in 1844, a young
man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and
an American epic begins. 163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy,
and triggers the largest financial crisis in history.
Gerard Baker in the Wall Street Journal wrote, “you should crawl across broken glass to buy tickets to ‘The Lehman Trilogy.’”
Michael Riedel, writing in the New York Post about the upcoming Broadway production, which will feature the original cast, said it
was “The must-see Broadway event of the season. It is epic in every conceivable way. You dare not miss it. Do anything you can
to get a ticket to ‘The Lehman Trilogy’.”
The Bing Theater Will Screen the original National Theatre production at 2 pm on October 20.
