The Whitworth Wind Symphony : Shadows & Light

    The acclaimed Whitworth Wind Symphony, under the direction of Richard Strauch, will present its spring concert, “Shadows and Light.” The performance will feature special guest artists The Travis Brass of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West in a performance of Eric Ewazen’s Shadowcatcher for brass quintet and wind ensemble. In addition to other works by Ron Nelson, Joseph Turrin, and John Philip Sousa, the concert will also present exciting new works by American composers Peter Van Zandt Lane and James David.

    Over the past two decades, the Whitworth Wind Symphony has been recognized as one of the outstanding university wind bands in the Pacific Northwest, and tours nationally and internationally.
