Post-grunge American rock band Alter Bridge formed in 2004, drawing their name from an actual bridge in Michigan which represented the edge of the unknown for songwriter and guitarist Mark Tremonti. The band is comprised of three former Creed band members, plus the addition of lead vocalist and Spokane native Myles Kennedy.
