Festivals and Events

Spokanites never pass up an opportunity to gather and celebrate throughout the year.

Spokane is known as The Lilac City, which makes it only appropriate that we would host the annual Lilac Festival. The celebration honors our powerful military presence, our innovative young people and the natural beauty of our region. The car show and princess teas are popular, but the can’t miss event is the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade, stretching miles through the streets of the city.

Valleyfest has something to entertain every member of the family, even the four-legged ones. The festival begins with a parade and bed races. It showcases talented musicians and performers, gleaming classic cars and soaring hot air balloons. Canine competitions and demonstration round out the weekend.

Get back to the region’s agricultural roots at the Spokane County Interstate Fair. For two weeks in September, it’s your chance to get up close and personal with all sorts of barnyard animals, see local and national entertainment and ride the Zipper until you’re dizzy.

As the summer growing season progresses, enjoy the simplicity of celebrating the cherry, peach, or apple seasons in the agricultural hub of Green Bluff. When the leaves on the trees turn to gold and red, try your luck in a corn maze or find the perfect pumpkin during the Harvest Festival.

Music fans are never left out of the festival scene. Elkfest, Artfest, Volume Music Festival, and Unifest are your yearly chance to experience the sounds of the Northwest while soaking in the long, sunny summer days that last well into the evening hours.

It’s never a question of if there is something happening in Spokane, it’s a question of whether you have time to fit it all in.
