The eagles arrive from Canada and even as far away as Alaska, seeking milder climates for the winter. Lake Coeur d’Alene provides an ideal stopover with tree-lined shores and plenty of fish. Their primary meal is the Kokanee salmon, a landlocked sockeye that thrives in the lake and its tributaries.
