Rooted in Beauty: Bee Rose and H is For Love
Nestled in the heart of Spokane, Washington, Bee Rose cultivates more than skincare at H is for Love—she nurtures a philosophy of connection, purity, and transformation.
Homemade Love
Nestled in the heart of Spokane, Washington, Bee Rose cultivates more than just skincare—she’s nurturing a philosophy of connection, purity, and transformation. As the founder and head formulator of H is for Love, a luxury botanical skincare line, Bee has built a brand that reflects her personal journey, her reverence for nature, and her commitment to holistic wellness.
H is for Love began not as a business, but as a personal necessity. “I was home with toddlers and needed something for my brain,” Bee recalls. “I wanted really nice skincare but couldn’t afford it, so I started making it myself.” Her passion for clean ingredients and her distrust of conventional formulations led her to create products that met her own high standards.
Spreading the Love
In 2015, Bee officially launched H is for Love with a website, expecting immediate acclaim. “There were crickets,” she laughs. “Nobody knew I existed. That’s when the work began.” She turned to Instagram and found support from green beauty bloggers who shared her products and stories with their communities. Locally, Spokane’s supportive maker community embraced her, helping H is for Love grow both digitally and in person.
For Rose, ingredients aren’t just components—they’re sacred. “You can read the ingredient deck on two products, and they might look the same,” she explains, “but they’re not the same unless those ingredients were grown in biodynamic soil, harvested ethically, and used while fresh.” This commitment to purity and potency is what sets H is for Love apart. Rose doesn’t rely on middlemen or bulk suppliers. Her approach is deeply intuitive, yet obsessively precise.
Turning Failures into Opportunity
Failures, she says, are part of the chase. “When something doesn’t work, I double down. I’m all about the pursuit.” Her goal is always the same: to create the very best product possible, one that speaks the language of the body—the language of plants.
The result? Oils that haven’t sat in drums for years but are freshly pressed and immediately infused. H is for Love uses long solar infusions, combining fresh oils with herbs like chamomile, calendula, lemon balm, and marshmallow root—many of which are grown right here in the Pacific Northwest. These infusions are slow, intentional, and deeply nourishing. “The purity of our ingredients is unmatched,” she says. “It’s the foundation of everything I make.”
Supernatural Spokane
H is for Love isn’t just an online success—it’s deeply rooted in Spokane’s local community. Bee works with local estheticians and boutiques, including Bloom Aesthetics, Emily Clark Skincare, and From Here in River Park Square. She also opens the doors of her workspace with catered shopping events multiple times a year, allowing Spokane locals and out-of-town visitors to experience the brand and the supernatural beauty of Spokane in person.
For Bee Rose, Spokane isn’t just where she lives—it’s where she thrives. She spends her summer days paddleboarding on a protected stretch of water north of the city, where motorized boats are prohibited and wildlife abounds. “You see moose, blue herons—it’s heavenly,” she says. “I used to dream of being an expat,” she shares. “But walking through Riverfront Park one spring, I realized everything I wanted in a place—I already had here in Spokane.”
Why H is for Love
Spokane provided Bee with community, support, and a connection to nature that inspires her every day. The tagline for H is for Love is simple, powerful, and deeply personal: Nature is Enough.
“Nature is my inspiration and the source of everything I create.” One way she draws that inspiration is through daily grounding rituals with Honor, the oak tree on her property. The question Bee gets asked more often than any other? “What does the H stand for?” As Bee explains, the H is actually a symbol that represents perfect balance and her way of giving a nod to the divine, staying true to her high standards and staying rooted in the natural world.
“I go outside, put my feet in the grass, and connect with the tree. It reminds me to be still, to trust the process.”
