Local golfers have a variety of opinions on the best hole at Liberty Lake, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more fun golfing experience than the 18th hole. The 330-yard par-four hole has a large pond that stretches over the latter half of the hole, forcing the golfer to play with accuracy up the left side.
Before you make your way to the course, the facilities at Liberty Lake are worth stopping by as there’s a large driving range and putting green that will give you plenty of room to get your swing sharp before the first tee. Once you’re done with your day on the course, there’s a full-service restaurant that can take care of any hunger pains you develop on the final nine holes.
Incredibly accommodating, Liberty Lake Golf Course is well worth the short drive from Spokane, providing visitors and locals the opportunity to play one of the best public courses in Washington.
The par-5 5th hole is a real gem at Latah Creek, playing at over 600 yards, the dogleg left has a tight chute off the tee and demands all the length that a golfer can muster. The hole is a true test of golfing expertise, challenging golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Much like MeadowWood nearby, Latah Creek features an aquatic driving range that golfers love to use. The golf balls used on the range fly at roughly 95 percent of the distance of a common golf ball but are made to float so they can be easily retrieved periodically throughout the day.
Other amenities at Hangman Valley include club and cart rental plus a full array of services such as club fitting and personalized lessons from the club’s PGA-certified professionals. And if the mood should strike you before or after your round, Hangman Valley has an on-site restaurant that can satisfy any craving you may have.

Playing completely uphill with a front green bunker, the par-five, 607-yard 16th hole is a golfing treasure at MeadowWood. Not only does it present one of the toughest golfing challenges you’ll face on a course in Spokane, but the condition of the hole rivals the best you’ll find from a public course anywhere in the region.
Another cool feature that you can’t miss at MeadowWood is their aquatic driving range that allows you to hit your practice shots into a nearby lake. Don’t worry about harm to the local environment as the specially made golf balls float and are easy to retrieve for the staff.
Featuring a design that you’ll find completely satisfying as you leave the 18th green, MeadowWood Golf Course is easily worth the trip.
Practice your swing at the lakefront, over-water practice tees with floating golf balls. The 2,400 sq. ft. putting green and 3,500 sq. ft. chipping green and sand bunkers allow golfers the chance to practice their technique before their round begins. Certified PGA Professionals are available to reserve for golf lessons and group clinics as well.
With an assigned forecaddie per four-person group, golfers have a private caddie to give yardage to the pin with laser rangefinders, rank sand bunkers, locate golf balls, and keep their clubs clean. This exceptional guest service and attention to detail throughout the course make the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course one of the most beautiful golf experiences.
Golf apparel and gear featuring the signature floating green logo can be found in the resort’s awarded pro shop so, snag a souvenir before you finish your day of golf on the lake. Overall, one must prepare for a posh experience that can only be found in the most upscale private course in the country. Enjoy some of the most stunning par threes and landscaping at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course.
Like most everything at Circling Raven, the large clubhouse offers high-level amenities like their expansive pro shop. Here golfers will find everything from clubs to apparel and gifts from top golf brands. The GPS in the carts is of notable mention for incredible accuracy in measuring yardage to the pin.
On each hole, golfers are wowed by the expansive scenery in every direction. Natural beauty surrounds this wide-open 18-hole course. To each player’s benefit, the holes are all mostly wide open, which allows for recovery at any point from their initial drive. Keep in mind the yardage distance from the white tees (6,100 yards) and the blue tees (6,578 yards). From the blue tees, longer forced carries are inevitable.
One of the few tree-lined holes, Hole 15, is a Par 4 that plays downhill and truly rewards a nice drive down the fairway. With a good drive, golfers have the opportunity for a short approach to the green with a wedge in hand.
We suggest fueling up for breakfast at the Twisted Earth Grill, the on-course restaurant, before heading to the links. The large track demands golfers to ignore the natural beauty—only slightly—to focus on ball striking. Whether the golf course alone is the main draw or the Coeur d’Alene Casino, you won’t leave a day of golf at Circling Raven disappointed.
