Volunteering

Voluntourism Benefits

Voluntourism not only helps our community but also cultivates a rewarding and memorable travel experience. This travel trend has steadily increased in recent years and more travelers are catching on to this influential experience. It’s a unique touch to traveling and a great way to make a positive difference in someone’s life. So, what’s in it for you…?

Immerse Yourself in Local Culture

Each of these volunteering programs are designed to help you get to know Spokane’s culture. Whether you are serving meals in the city or grooming horses in the woods, you will be immersed in an authentic community experience. You’ll experience new places, converse with locals, and be immersed in new environments that most travelers won’t encounter. It’s a great opportunity to hear about the history, traditions, and customs from native Spokanites. Best of all, you’ll get a better understanding of what makes the Spokane community so beautiful inside and out.

Cultivate Life Changing Experiences

Volunteering in a new city can open your eyes to many life-changing experiences. It gives you perspective, positivity, and purpose! Volunteering shows us how challenging the world can be and allows a glimpse into another person’s life. Too often we get wrapped up in the daily stressors of our own lives, we forget that some people struggle to have their daily needs met. Voluntourism teaches us the value of helping others by experiencing it first-hand. You will leave feeling rejuvenated and inspired. These memories are truly one of a kind and the life lessons are invaluable.

Realize Your Potential

Stepping out of our comfort zone is where the magic happens! Your comfort zone is a great place, but nothing grows there. By opening yourself up to new and meaningful activities you can expect to learn more about your personal strengths and weaknesses and provide yourself with an opportunity to grow.

Both volunteering and traveling help you to learn about yourself and expand your creativity, and when you combine the two, the results are exponentially better. You’ll learn to handle new challenges, build new relationships, and increase your self confidence, all while adding brownie points to your resume!

Blessings Under the Bridge

Blessings Under the Bridge provides hope to the homeless population of Spokane. Events are for all ages but, they ask young kids to be supervised. The group size can vary from a single person wanting to make a difference to a group of 10 plus. Larger groups will be asked to band their resources together to help sponsor the cost of a meal. Please reach out at least three days in advance in case the location changes, the event is full or if they have special accommodations we need to make.
