In the heat of summer Avenue West Gallery presents two artists inspired by nature: featured member artist Lori-Ann Scott and guest artist Maya Lin. The artist’s reception is First Friday, August 2, from 5 to 8 pm. The exhibits continue through to the end of the month.
Lori-Ann Scott holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She has won several awards for her art and has taught as an art instructor in Vancouver and Spokane. She not only paints but creates jewelry and sculpture as well as working in photography. She is an avid gardener and beekeeper.
Maya Lin says she practices “the "Zen of Photography" by bringing presence, intuition, and feelings into each expression of art” She enjoys spending time in nature and sees photography as her way of preserving the beauty of this earth. With each photograph, she tries to share her feelings of the moment.ll.
