Riverside State Park spans over 10,000 acres. The park features two rivers and towering basalt rock formations. Visitors to the park can enjoy any of following activities:
Riverside is a hiker's paradise. A hundred plus miles of trails await you! Riverside State Park’s trail system offers hikes for all ages and abilities, with single track trails, two track fire roads, and the paved Centennial Trail (handicapped accessible). Trails are marked for use, and all trail users yield to horses.
Riverside State Park is one end of the "Centennial Trail", a paved path that starts in Nine Mile Falls and goes all the way to the State Line Gateway Park before entering Idaho and traveling on to Coeur d’Alene at Wolf Lodge Bay. It is open year round.
Rafting, Canoeing and Kaying
Riverside State Park offers visitors two rivers worth of water access and recreation with several different access points on both the Little Spokane, the Spokane River, and Lake Spokane. The Spokane River is hazardous in places, and should not be run without local knowledge. The park has two watercraft launches on Lake Spokane, and 120 feet of dock. The Little Spokane River is restricted to kayaks, canoes and rafts. Inner tubes are not allowed. Approved flotation devices are mandatory for all paddlers and boaters. Canoes & kayaks can be rented at the Nine Mile Recreation Area for $25 a day May 15 - Sept 15.
Riverside State Park is perfect for equestrians, with a dedicated Equestrian Area, Equestrian Campground with special horse friendly accommodations including a handicapped mounting platform, newly renovated riding arena, and gateway to miles and miles of trails. Nearly every mile of trails in the Park is excellent for riding, except the rocky area adjacent to the Bowl and Pitcher and the ORV Area.
RV Resorts and Campgrounds
Riverside has two campgrounds; one at the Bowl and Pitcher area located at 4427 N Aubrey L White Parkway, 6 miles northwest of downtown Spokane. The other is the Nine Mile Recreation area located at 11226 W Charles Road in Nine Mile Falls.

- Seasonal Dates: Bowl and pitcher area is open all year long. The Nine Mile Recreation area is open for day use April 15-October 15; camping from May 15-September 30th. Both areas accept reservations by calling 1-888-226-7688 or online at parks.wa.gov
