PARK IT!
You can park it in Spokane. With over 100 city, county, and state parks, you can breathe deeply and have a delightful time. We picked out a few of our favorite city parks for you to check out.
RIVERFRONT SPOKANE
The beating heart of Spokane is the 100-acre Riverfront Park. 51 years ago, it was a brownfield polluted by decades of rail yard waste. The area was cleaned up and turned into the 1974 World's Fair site—the first to be environmentally themed. The roaring Spokane Falls are the crown jewel of the greenspace.
Make sure you hit all the attractions inside the park. The Numerica SkyRide, Numerica Skate RIbbon, Ice Age Floods Playground, Providence Playscape, Garbage-Eating Goat, Looff Carrousel, Radio Flyer Red Wagon, Great Northern Clock Tower, and the US Pavilion are sites of note.
MANITO PARK
Manito Park is a must-see attraction just a short drive from downtown Spokane. With 78 acres of natural and manicured landscape and 20 acres of botanical gardens, it is a dream.
The park includes five diverse garden areas: Duncan Garden, Rose Hill, Ferris Perennial Garden, Lilac Garden, and the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden. Young visitors can play on one of two playgrounds and a splash pad.
Riverside State Park
Just nine miles northwest of downtown Spokane, there’s something for every outdoor enthusiast. For the water enthusiasts, the Little Spokane River provides an excellent spot for SUP, boating, fishing and swimming.
The park has hiking and biking trails, horse trails complete with an obstacle course, and a 60-foot round pen, plus it is ORV friendly. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention plenty of campsites.
Mount Spokane State Park
Every season is the perfect time to visit Mount Spokane State Park. With hiking, biking and horse trails, you’ll get a different view every time. Make sure to stop at the historic Vista House for a photo op.
The mountain is home to Mt Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park if you love winter sports. Book a Discovery Pass to explore 13,000 acres of outdoor fun!
