The New Orleans quartet, founded by Kevin Griffin (lead vocals, guitar, piano) and Tom Drummond (bass, backing vocals), became known for their instantly hummable melodies, unshakable guitar riffs, and confessional lyrics that continue to resonate across generations.

From their 1995 #1 hit “Good” to Taylor Swift’s 2010 cover of the Better Than Ezra classic “Breathless,” the band’s influence has remained undeniable. In 2025, Better Than Ezra celebrated 30 years of their breakthrough debut album Deluxe with a sold-out hometown show at the Fillmore New Orleans, a full-circle moment honoring the record that helped define alternative rock in the ’90s, including songs like “Good,” “In the Blood,” and “Rosealia.”
