The Voice of Expo

May 8th to Aug 8th

During the Expo Anniversary, Spokane Public Radio will run a series of short radio programs about the 1974 World's Fair that were created by "The Voice of Expo," Tom Read. Read is the owner of KSPO radio in Spokane. In 1974, he worked for the local organization that ran the world's fair and created 32 weeks' worth of 3-5 minute daily programs, 160 in all, featuring interviews with Expo officials, celebrities who came to Spokane and others who had some affiliation with the fair. Tune in each day at 6:44 am and 4:44 pm on KPBX FM 91.1 to hear the daily spot. Listeners can stream either station at SpokanePublicRadio.org.
