"The Call of the Visual Poet" with Richard Kenton Webb
Sep 15th
Open Monday - Friday through October 29
The Whitworth University Art & Design Department and the university’s Bryan Oliver Gallery are proud to present works on paper by Richard Kenton Webb.
This exhibit features three suites of works on paper spanning seven years. The linocuts form part of a larger conversation with John Milton’s epic poem, Paradise Lost. This body of work led to a commission from The Milton Society of America to respond to John Milton’s poem Lycidas. Finally, Webb took up the prestigious artist in residency at the Joseph and Annie Albers Foundation where he completed a series of 72 drawings, the start of his Manifesto of Painting. This is a small selection of that set of work. Works available to view starting Sept. 15.
