We work directly with Tourism Economics, the global leader in tourism research and data, to secure an annual report on the Economic Impact of Tourism. Their collaborative efforts ensure accurate and comprehensive insights into the region’s tourism dynamics.
VISITOR SPENDING IMPACT
9.8 million visitors to Spokane County spent $1.48 billion in 2023, an increase of 3.9% over the prior year. Visitor volume increased 1.4% over 2022, surpassing 2019 levels for the first time post-pandemic.
TOTAL ECONOMIC IMPACT
Tourism’s direct spending impact of $1.48 billion generated $804 million in indirect and induced impacts, resulting in a total economic impact of $2.28 billion in Spokane County in 2023.
ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO SPOKANE COUNTY RESIDENTS
The total economic impact sustained 17,587 jobs and $653 million in labor income. It generated $227 million in state and local tax revenues, resulting in $1065 in household tax relief for Spokane County residents.
